The 2013 Ragnar relay fell through for Hope Express this year, so the next best thing is vying for a spot on the extreme team! Each person runs 3 legs of 6 miles on really, really tough terrain from Hershey to PSU THON -- I know how tough it is because I was a moraler in 2012 and those mountains were serious. This will be the hardest run of my life if I make the team, and I am up for the challenge! The top 8 fundraisers will make up this team, so please help me be one of them! Ready, Set, Donate FOR THE KIDS!

So as if I weren't crazy enough, I signed up for the Hope Express Ragnar team, where 12 of us will collectively run 197 miles from Cumberland, MD to Washington, DC from October 4-5, 2013.
I really waivered on this one at first, but then I realized that over and over again I have been able to do things that I never in a million years dreamt I could and why shouldn't this be the next? Gonna be crazy! I just found all of the pics from my old website I made for John while at PSU, so I added them to his page. Check them out! :)
On February 14, 2013, two Hope teams (Express and Extreme) set out to run from PSU's Hershey Medical Center to the University Park campus, carrying letters on their backs from those kids too sick to attend THON, thanking the dancers for all of their hard work. This experience was even more amazing than last year's experience of being a moraler. The Hope teams BOTH broke previous records for arrival times: the express team ran 135 miles in 20:13 and the extreme team ran 140 miles in 19:59!!!
MORE IMPORTANTLY, we set a new fundraising record! As a team, we raised a total of $94,860 FTK! AND EVEN MORE AWESOMELY, THON 2013 set a record -- raising a grand total of $12,374 Of course, we all knew that THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the WORLD, but it was nice to see some more publicity :)
We blow everyone else away -- Check it out! Last night, the selection committee picked the Hope Express Team for 2013 and I am so honored and excited to say that I will be a part of this amazing experience! Thank you so much, everyone, for your support and please stay tuned for updates and pictures as we prepare to run in February.. FOR a cure.. FOR THE KIDS! 135 in 24!
