Thank you donors! With your help, the Hope Express raised $156,135 this year!
Dear Family and Friends,
Many of you may know that I am very passionate about the Penn State Dance Marathon (or THON). THON is a 46-hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon held every February to celebrate an entire year of fundraising for the Four Diamonds Fund, an organization that helps families who have children conquering pediatric cancer (for more information, visit www.thon.org). The funds pay for research, tests, and other supportive expenses, such as transportation to and from treatment. Last year alone, PSU students and alumni raised over $13.3 MILLION with your help! How incredible is that?!?
Since 2012, I was fortunate enough to be a part of the Hope Express, first as a moraler and then twice as a runner in a relay, during which runners carried backpacks full of children's letters from the Hershey Medical Center to Penn State. As a team, we ran the final mile to THON together. Collectively, we ran 135 and 140 miles in less than 24 hours! Last year, I was captain of our Ragnar Relay team of 12 runners who collectively ran 200 miles from Cumberland, MD to Washington, DC!
This year, I am vying for a spot on the new Blood and Guts Team, which is made up of Hope Express alumni. Please consider donating here. If you would like to send a check, please add my name in the memo line and mail it to the address below:

Whether or not you are personally able to donate, I am also asking that you pass this on to your friends and family who you think would also be interested in donating.
Every donation helps!!
I will always run in memory of my cousin, John Matthew Dean, who passed away before his 5th birthday in 1998 from a brainstem tumor. I think about him and other children affected every time I step outside for a run. I am humbled by their strength and inspired by their love and courage. I only wish that someday we can fulfill their hopes and dreams of a childhood without cancer. Please help me help them.
