John Matthew Dean

John had so much fun during his short life. This purpose of this page is not only to remind everyone of his interests in life, but also to remember the joys of being a kid.
One of the things I remember most about John is how much he loved "Honey" (aka Winnie the Pooh) and most things Disney. He had multiple stuffed animals from Winnie the Pooh and his room was all dec'd out in honey jars, clouds, and characters from the story. He used to brag that his girlfriend was Ariel from The Little Mermaid...and one lucky day, he got to meet her in Disney World! I remember him saying that the flight to Disney was "too bumpy" and that next time he visits, he wants to take a train! Unfortunately, John did not get that chance.
John LOVED trains! He knew every car's name in the Thomas series. It was unreal. There he was at 3-4 years old and he had them all memorized. (I wasn't that smart!). Needless to say, he accumulated a ridiculous amount of trains, tracks, bridges, stations, and "tunneys" (tunnels) during his few years with us. He used to love going to Lackawanna coal county to get rides on the real trains! He also had a nice collection of Hess trains. If ever you were in the vicinity of the "train store", you'd have to stop!
One of the stuffed animals that John had to take everywhere was Winky the Whale. Along with his "mmm-y" (blankey), John would carry Winky on car rides, no matter what the occasion. Winky was his sleeping buddy at night as well.
Knowing the names of each type of truck, John mastered his Tonka computer games. Virtually clearing land with the trucks and building a city brought so much joy to him.
